Following is a short excerpt from the history prepared by Jack Meredith in 1994.

1988/89 - President Keith Hawkins

Keith's goal in our fourth year of operation was:

''ASHRAE will broaden awareness of its technology and expertise in the business community, industry, legislative bodies and the general public.''

Keith was always one to joint out the significant effect our Chapter members have had on the community by applying their professional expertise through their work and in their daily contact with others. To support this Keith and his executive worked hard to bring in experts to discuss such issues as Indoor Air Quality Control, and the effects of CFCS on the environment. This prepared many of us to be advocates for the high principals which ASHRAE stand for in the community. .

Membership dropped slightly this year to 60 members out of a society assigned 62 with several members moving away. Average meeting attendance also dropped to 30 members per meeting, but Research Promotion grew considerably to $98 per member.
